In the remote place were I live, where the sun disappears for three months each year, the absence of light shapes life in profound ways. The town lies under a thick, endless veil of darkness, where even midday feels like the depths of night. Streets are deserted, the usual chatter of community replaced by an eerie stillness. People retreat into their homes, seeking warmth and light in solitude. Isolation becomes a second nature as neighbors, once familiar faces, fade into the shadows of memory. The rhythm of life slows, tethered to the hum of heaters and the glow of dim lamps, while the vast darkness outside presses in, a constant reminder of their separation from the world beyond.
